Our Story

Katy & Jake

The picture above was taken in 1996.  Exactly 20 years later, my wife, Katy, and I were married on September 10, 2016.  Though we didn't find out until years later, we were both each other's 2nd grade crushes!  We reconnected in college after moving to different schools following 4th grade and the rest is history.  

As fate would have it, we chose to be married in a church that was just two blocks from the elementary school where we first caught each other's eye! We went back to take one of our wedding photos and discovered that the same bench we had once used for our 2nd grade class picture was still there!  

Our day was absolutely perfect and so much of it flew by that we barely had time to take it in as it was happening.  I cannot explain how thankful we were that we had films of the day to enjoy and relive.  It was magical each time we watched it on our honeymoon and every time since.

This was one of the primary reasons we decided to start Riparea Videography.  We had both enjoyed filming and editing for years, so when the opportunity presented itself, we jumped at the chance to make our dreams a reality.  We appreciate everyone who has supported us along the way.

Since opening in January of 2017, we have added several additional photographers and videographers to our team, so that we are able to offer full service photo and video for your event, business, wedding and more!
